AntiROTAid is an Android study app that runs locally on your device. It helps you turn your own study materials into scrollable study cards.
What the app processes
- Study materials you choose to import, such as PDF, PowerPoint/PPTX, Word/DOCX, text and image files.
- Study cards generated from those materials.
- Local course, exam, pacing and progress information.
Local and offline processing
- Imported materials and generated cards are processed locally on your device.
- Imported files are not uploaded to the developer or to any server.
- Cards, course/exam settings and progress are stored locally on your device.
What AntiROTAid does not do
- It does not require an account, login, email address or password.
- It does not show ads.
- It does not use analytics or crash-reporting SDKs.
- It does not perform cloud processing of your files.
- It does not sync your study materials or progress to a server.
- It does not use cloud AI, online OCR or external APIs.
- The public offline build is intended to work without Android Internet access.
- It does not use Android app-usage access and does not track which apps you open or how long you spend in them.
- It does not use an Android Accessibility Service.
Overlay permission
AntiROTAid may request Android's “Display over other apps” permission (SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW). This permission is used only to show local study cards over other apps when you manually turn on AntiROTAid Mode.
AntiROTAid can show study cards over other apps, but it does not need to read those apps. The overlay is not used for ads, tracking, deception, collecting information from other apps, click-jacking, or covering system UI for harmful purposes.
Foreground service and notifications
AntiROTAid Mode may use a foreground service and notification permissions so the mode can keep running visibly and provide a stop control while study cards may appear over the screen.
The complete permission list
The published package declares four Android permissions: SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW, FOREGROUND_SERVICE, FOREGROUND_SERVICE_SPECIAL_USE and POST_NOTIFICATIONS. It does not declare INTERNET, so the app cannot open a network connection; it does not declare PACKAGE_USAGE_STATS and does not register an accessibility service, so it cannot see which apps you open; and it does not request camera, microphone, location or contacts.
A permission inspector will also list app.antirotaid.DYNAMIC_RECEIVER_NOT_EXPORTED_PERMISSION, which the Android build tools generate for the app's own internal broadcasts. It is signature-level and app-private, grants no access to the device, and is never shown to the user.
Data collection by the developer
The developer does not receive your imported study materials, local cards, local exam settings or local study progress through the app. If you choose to email support, the information you include in that email is provided voluntarily and is handled outside the app.
Deleting your data
All app study data is local. You can remove it by deleting materials or courses in the app when available, clearing the app data in Android Settings, or uninstalling the app. Your original files outside the app are separate from the app's local copy.
Children
The app does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone, including children, because it does not transmit app data off the device.
